BenQ Group Green Expo Set 21 Goals for massive 2024 COMPUTEX Taipaei

Heralding strong, BenQ Group’s Green Expo has set 21 goals for the massive 2024 COMPUTEX Taipei exhibition in compliance with ISO 20121 sustainable management systems.BenQ Group 25 Sustainability Partners at COMPUTEX Taipei the volt post 1

All objectives were accomplished during the exhibition, and a third-party professional certification was obtained. At COMPUTEX, BenQ Group was the only company to successfully renew certification after gaining it for the first time the previous year.

In the past, large-scale exhibitions have often generated a substantial amount of disposable waste. “Together, Make the World Better” is the sustainability guiding principle that BenQ Group used in planning the Green Expo. A zero-waste exhibition was developed in 2023; in 2024, it innovated and took on new difficulties, starting with the source design and successfully reducing carbon emissions by 15%. Wood was designated as the BenQ Group’s ambassador for sustainability when the wood from the exhibition was donated to university courses and worldwide educational expos after it closed.

Joe Huang, General Manager of BenQ Group, stated that COMPUTEX is the premier technology exhibition in the globe. This year, BenQ Group is committed to helping customers with green transformations and proving the value of sustainability exhibits, in addition to bringing together over 20 firms to display their AI capabilities.

The process of ongoing accumulation and correction is known as sustainability. It is envisaged that partners would be able to collaborate to create a long-term green value chain by upholding their commitment to excellence and setting the foundation for sustainable initiatives.BenQ Group 25 Sustainability Partners at COMPUTEX Taipei 1 (1)

A further 15% reduction in carbon emissions through the exhibition and spreading the sustainability philosophy through wood donations

BenQ Group committed to implementing a low-carbon design and started implementing 3R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) as early as 2023 in order to meet the zero-waste objective in exhibition venue design.

Based on estimates of carbon emissions from the Industrial Technology Research Institute, BenQ’s carbon emissions from booth decoration and power consumption decreased by 15% this year at the 2.0 Green Expo in 2024 in response to plans to help Taiwanese exhibition businesses implement carbon reduction by reducing wood use ratio, increasing equipment rental, and other actions. This is part of active efforts to achieve a zero-waste and low-carbon Green Expo.

BenQ Group, on the other hand, has carried on the wood’s life journey after the exhibition by offering recycling services to four K–12 schools in addition to hosting an international education expo. The exhibition wood’s next destination will bring students new resources for woodworking, school site upkeep, teaching material manufacturing, and educational exhibition experiences—all in line with the recent emphasis on self-produced courses in elementary, junior, and senior high schools. It is projected that 1500 people and 15 nations would gain from it, spreading the sustainable spirit.BenQ Group 25 Sustainability Partners at COMPUTEX Taipei

ISO 20121 verification: Meeting All 21 ESG Goals in Three Fields

Compared to 2023, there were three main areas of innovation in 2024: governance, where vegetarian set meals from the “1.5°C-aligned menu” were bought; social, where the “Green Travel Guide” was established; and environmental, where carbon inventories were created. The social objectives were strengthened to 10 items this year, and all 21 goals were met this year, up from 15 things the year before.

Beyond working with clients, Green Expo also implemented and communicated with educational funds, social welfare organizations, and campuses (various initiatives are offered to colleges and K12). The Green Expo practices are not limited to the four days of the COMPUTEX Taipei show; they also have an impact both before to and following the event.

Furthermore, in keeping with the 2023 Green Expo’s environmental goal, the exposition venue has achieved 90% digitization of printed materials, 100% usage of recycled eating utensils, and 100% zero-waste from decorations.

A network of partners including more than twenty have been assembled to address the social side, showcasing over fifty percent of AI green smart solutions through sustainable actions. In terms of governance, economic values—like buying 90% local gifts and souvenirs and 80% local building materials produced in Taiwan—have been co-created with a network of partners.
