Vishay New ICMS2321 Common Mode Chokes for High Current Applications

THE VOLT VOTES

Vishay Intertechnology has introduced two new low profile common mode chokes designed for high current automotive, energy and industrial applications.

Vishay Introduces 30 A Common Mode Chokes for Automotive The Volt Post

The new devices, the Vishay Dale commercial ICMS2321-10 and Automotive Grade ICMS2321-1A, combine a rated current of up to 30 A with a 1500 VDC dielectric withstand voltage between coils.

Available in both surface-mount and through-hole versions, the common mode chokes are designed to reduce overall component size and volume. Their low profile also improves resistance to shock and vibration, making them suitable for demanding automotive and industrial environments.

Designed for high temperature performance

Vishay has incorporated an enhanced core design into the new common mode chokes to improve performance and saturation current at temperatures reaching +150 °C.

The devices feature a self-shielded and rugged construction and are designed for applications including DC/DC converters, high voltage inverters, EMI filters and high current filters. They can also be used for noise suppression in motor control systems and other high current circuitry.

The AEC-Q200 qualified ICMS2321-1A is specifically targeted at automotive applications, including on-board chargers, where high current handling, thermal performance and reliability are critical.

Flexible mounting and customization options

The ICMS2321-10 and ICMS2321-1A are available with both surface-mount and through-hole mounting options, giving designers greater flexibility when developing board layouts.

Vishay also offers customizable inductance, impedance, DC resistance (DCR) and current ratings, allowing the common mode chokes to be tailored to specific application requirements.

Surface-mount versions are supplied in tape and reel packaging and support automated pick-and-place assembly, helping manufacturers integrate the components into high-volume production processes.

Both devices are RoHS-compliant, halogen-free and Vishay Green, supporting applications where environmental and material compliance requirements are important.

With their combination of high current capability, compact construction, high temperature performance and flexible mounting options, the new common mode chokes are aimed at power conversion, automotive electrification and industrial systems where effective EMI and noise suppression are essential.
