ROHM has introduced the AG16xFNxx Series, a new lineup of 80V power MOSFETs designed for 48V power supply systems, which are becoming increasingly common in automotive applications.
As power demand continues to rise in the automotive sector, especially in premium vehicle models, 48V power supply systems are drawing more attention as a more efficient alternative to conventional 12V systems.
With adoption expected to grow significantly by around 2030, demand is also increasing for 80V power MOSFETs that can deliver lower power losses than standard 100V devices.
ROHM says its new products are designed to support smaller footprints than conventional automotive MOSFET packages such as the TO-252 (6.6 x 10.0 mm) by using the HPLF5060 (4.9 x 6.0 mm) and DFN3333 (3.3 x 3.3 mm) packages.
The HPLF5060 package uses Gull-Wing Leads, while the DFN3333 package incorporates Wettable Flank Technology, both of which help improve PCB reliability.
In addition, Copper Clip Junction Technology has been adopted to improve heat dissipation, allowing the devices to handle high currents. All models meet the automotive reliability standard AEC-Q101, ensuring strong reliability for automotive use.
Mass production of the new products began in April 2026 with the AG160FNS4FRA (HPLF5060) and the AG166FNH7FRA (DFN3333), each with a sample price of $3.5 per unit, excluding tax. Online sales have also begun, with the devices available through distributors including DigiKey and Farnell.
ROHM plans to expand this package lineup further in the near future. It has also begun developing TOLG (TO-Leaded with Gullwing, 9.9 x 11.7 mm) packaged products, as part of its broader push to grow its portfolio of high-power, high-reliability 80V MOSFETs.
