Powell Electronics Showcases Rail Connector Solutions at InnoTrans 2026

THE VOLT VOTES

Powell Electronics will showcase a range of high-reliability connector solutions designed for harsh-environment rail applications at InnoTrans 2026, taking place in Berlin, Germany, from September 22 to 25.

Visitors can meet the technical team at Hall 14.1, Stand 210, to explore the products on display and learn more about Powell’s technical support and design-in capabilities. The portfolio will feature solutions from leading connector manufacturers and franchises, including Amphenol, Glenair, Honeywell, Samtec and ITT Cannon.

Among the key products on display will be the ITT Cannon Veam MOVE-MOD connector, Quell’s EESeal and EESeal+ inserts, and Glenair’s IRT series rectangular power connectors.

ITT Cannon Veam MOVE-MOD: Power, signal and data in one connector

The ITT Cannon Veam MOVE-MOD is designed to provide greater flexibility for applications that require power, signal and data connections within a single connector.

Its modular design uses a range of snap-in modules to support different contact configurations. The connector also features an ultra-secure bayonet coupling mechanism with secondary locking, while its circular form factor helps reduce weight and save space.

Another key advantage is its tool-less assembly and installation, allowing the connector to be fitted quickly and easily.

Quell EESeal and EESeal+: Adding EMI filtering and transient suppression

Powell will also highlight Quell’s EESeal and EESeal+ inserts, which enable EMI filtering and transient suppression to be retrofitted into standard connectors.

The solution allows custom circuitry to be added in seconds without requiring a completely new connector design. Quell’s patented elastomeric body is designed to suspend, isolate and protect discrete electrical components.

The EESeal inserts are pressed directly into the connector body. Their surfaces then conform to the connector interface, creating a structure that mimics the cork-and-bottle arrangement of the connection.

Glenair IRT series: Rugged rectangular power connectivity

Glenair’s IRT series rectangular power connectors will also feature prominently at Powell’s stand.

Railway connector selection involves more than electrical parameters such as voltage and current. Factors including sealing, environmental conditions, operating conditions, mechanical robustness, handling and individual railway authority requirements can all play an important role.

Powell Electronics Rail Connectors at InnoTrans 2026 The Volt PostThe IRT series is designed to address these requirements and has become a widely used rectangular power connection system. The connectors are available with three, four and six contacts and are designed to meet common requirements specified by railway authorities worldwide.

Through its technical expertise and support, Powell Electronics will also demonstrate how it can assist customers with connector selection and design-in activities for demanding rail applications.
