onsemi and Geely Auto Group have deepened their strategic partnership to fast-track next-generation electric and hybrid vehicle development.

onsemi and Geely collaboration centers on tighter system?level integration of onsemi’s EliteSiC silicon carbide technologies across Geely’s vehicle platforms starting with the SEA-S, the Super Hybrid variant of Geely’s Sustainable Experience Architecture.
These 900V-ready architectures are designed to boost efficiency, extend driving range, and cut charging times, delivering a faster, more reliable, and more convenient experience for EV owners worldwide.
EliteSiC at the heart of SEA?S
Geely is now showcasing its SEA-S–based Super Electric Power (SEP) System, with onsemi’s EliteSiC power technologies embedded at the core of its electric drive systems. In these vehicles, higher-voltage architectures unlock real?world gains quicker acceleration, longer range, and noticeably shorter charging stops.
By enabling higher power density, onsemi’s technology packs more performance into a smaller, lighter package, freeing up space and improving vehicle dynamics without sacrificing capability.
At the same time, tighter thermal control helps maintain consistent output under hard driving conditions and supports long-term reliability. The result is a driving experience that feels more responsive and refined smoother power delivery at low speeds, stronger push when you need it, and fewer interruptions at the charger.
Why 900V is a game-changer
At its core, the move to 900V is about moving more power through the car with less loss.
Higher voltage lets automakers deliver more performance with less heat and wasted energy, which translates into tangible benefits drivers actually feel faster charging, longer range, and more predictable performance in different conditions.
onsemi’s EliteSiC solutions are built to handle these higher voltages with better efficiency and reliability, helping bring next-gen EVs closer to the speed, convenience, and everyday usability customers expect.
Benefits that matter to drivers
The expanded onsemi and Geely collaboration directly shows up in the way drivers experience these vehicles:
- Longer driving range due to lower energy losses across the powertrain.
- Faster charging enabled by high-voltage architectures and efficient power conversion.
- Stronger acceleration and performance from higher power density in the drive system.
- Greater reliability and durability thanks to improved thermal management.
- A smoother, more natural driving experience from more efficient, responsive power delivery.
As EV platforms become more complex, automakers are leaning earlier into system-level decisions that shape efficiency, reliability, scalability, and long-term performance.
The upgraded partnership between onsemi and Geely reflects that shift, putting semiconductor innovation at the center of vehicle design and enabling a new generation of EVs that balance performance, efficiency, and real?world usability.
