MIKROE has officially started shipping its Spatial Anchor S1 and Spatial Anchor R1, a new line of hardware designed to seamlessly pull physical objects directly into the Apple Vision Pro ecosystem.
The concept is to assist developers and users can mount these self-contained modules onto real-world items, whether that is a handheld tool, a steering wheel, or a massive simulator rig. Once attached, the hardware turns the physical object into a trackable element that visionOS apps can see, follow, and build digital environments around in real time.
To cover different spatial needs, MIKROE is offering two variations of the hardware. The palm-sized S1 is built for smaller, arm’s-reach objects that require easy installation. Meanwhile, the larger R1 is engineered to give massive setups like car bucks or flight simulators for better visibility from wider angles and greater distances.
Both modules feature an infrared-transparent shell over a solid base, keeping them lightweight and unobtrusive. Under the hood, they combine infrared optical tracking, inertial sensing, and low-latency wireless communication to deliver precise spatial understanding right out of the box.
The launch is already gaining traction with major software developers. Innoactive Spatial, an immersive design review platform built from the ground up for the Vision Pro, recently rolled out native support for both MIKROE modules. The integration allows engineers and designers to perfectly align virtual models with physical seating bucks and other tactile elements.
