Microwave Factory Integrates R&S CMX500 for Automated 5G SAR Testing

THE VOLT VOTES

Microwave Factory has added support for the CMX500 5G one-box signaling tester from Rohde & Schwarz to its MATEOS SAR measurement software. The setup combines the CMX500 with SPEAG’s cSAR3D vector array system and enables automated SAR measurements for 5G NR standalone (SA), 5G non-standalone (NSA) and LTE devices through one software interface.

Microwave Factory (MWF) and Rohde & Schwarz have collaborated to enable fast and fully automated SAR measurements on 5G NR and LTE devices. MATEOS, the high-speed SAR measurement software from MWF, now integrates SPEAG’s cSAR3D vector array system with the CMX500 one-box signaling tester in one workflow.

Users can control the measurement process through a single interface. This reduces setup times significantly compared to earlier workflows that required manual call configuration and separate setup steps on the CMX500 test platform.

This integration was developed in response to customer requests for automated SAR measurements with the CMX500 and SPEAG‘s SAR systems. The current implementation supports 5G NR standalone, 5G NR non-standalone and LTE. This addresses demand for stable and efficient SAR measurements during mobile device development and certification.

As 5G devices and wireless technologies continue to evolve, fast, automated and reliable SAR measurement workflows are becoming increasingly important for device manufacturers, test houses and certification laboratories.

This project builds on earlier collaborations between Rohde & Schwarz and SPEAG on SAR testing. By integrating the CMX500 into MATEOS, Rohde & Schwarz broadens its wireless device test offering and helps users streamline SAR measurements for the latest 5G NR and LTE devices with automated workflows.
