Marelli is heading to Auto China 2026 (April 24-May 3, Beijing) with a compelling showcase of next-gen in-cabin tech that blends electronics and interiors to deliver smarter, more immersive experiences, without breaking the bank in this era of software-defined vehicles.

As vehicles become more standardized, brands need advanced cabin tech to stand out.
Marelli’s solutions smartly integrate software, displays, AI, and zonal architectures to deliver information and entertainment exactly when and where drivers and passengers need it boosting interaction, design freedom, and brand identity.
Software-Defined Cockpit: Unified Intelligence at Work
At the heart of Marelli’s display is a unified software-defined cockpit that fuses cockpit computing, AI, graphics, and HMI into one intelligent system running on QNX RTOS.
It handles everything from infotainment to cabin monitoring with smooth, responsive performance across all functions.
The MiniLED Full Array Local Dimming (FALD) display brings exceptional contrast and sunlight readability in an ultrathin form factor perfect for curved, pillar-to-pillar cockpit designs.
For true immersion, the HorizonView 44.8-inch panoramic display stretches across the windshield base, powered by a 12,000-nit MiniLED PGU that stays crystal clear in any lighting.
Affordable Zonal Architecture: Cost Down, Performance Up
Marelli’s zonal E/E architecture simplifies wiring, cuts ECUs, and accelerates development. Two clever products show the shift:
- MCU-Free Door Module and MCU-Free Seat Module offload window, mirror, seat, and safety functions (like anti-pinch protection) to the central Zone Control Unit via low-latency protocols.
- Distributed Audio Amplifier over Ethernet delivers premium multizone sound without local DSPs or MCUs, perfect for flexible audio across vehicle segments.
Affordable 5G RedCap: Streamlined Connectivity
Marelli’s 5G RedCap telematics offers 50% faster data rates and 2.5× lower latency than 4G at similar cost. It supports OTA updates, remote diagnostics, real-time navigation, and dual-frequency GNSS, ideal for global platforms transitioning from 4G.
Smart Interiors: Comfort Meets Customization
Marelli’s interior innovations focus on lightweight, low-carbon materials across two demonstrators:
Cockpit area highlights at Auto China 2026:
- Swivel Motorized Speaker for directed immersive audio
- Customizable ambient lighting for instrument panels, doors, and consoles
- Motorized Vent for efficient climate control
- Retractable Table for work/leisure functionality
Center console innovations:
- Multi-Access Console Lid (opens from 3 sides)
- Detachable Display Mechanism for rear-seat entertainment
- Removable Storage Module for flexible space
The booth W2B08 (Hall W2, NCIEC Beijing) embodies “Rooted in innovation, everywhere” combining local Chinese engineering with global expertise for rapid, market-specific delivery.
Leadership Comment
“In the cabin of the future, technology must feel human – intuitive, responsive, and seamlessly integrated,” said Joachim Fetzer, Chief Technology and Innovation Officer of Marelli. “At Auto China 2026, we will demonstrate how Marelli unifies compute, display, audio, and interior design into a coherent, software?defined experience enabled by deep local engineering and strong partnerships.”
