The TECHgium 2026 program saw over 62,000 registrations from more than 540 engineering institutes across the country, marking a 60% jump from the previous edition and an impressive 800% growth since its launch in 2016.

This year’s finalists brought forward a diverse range of working prototypes, tackling real-world challenges through cutting-edge technologies.

Their projects included robotic automation for medical diagnostics, AI-driven multilingual video localization, real-time AI captioning systems, Wi-Fi sensing for smart home monitoring, and adaptive robotic arms designed to improve industrial safety.

Through initiatives like TECHgium 2026, LTTS continues to push the boundaries of Engineering Intelligence (EI), where AI, software, hardware, and domain expertise come together to create scalable, industry-ready solutions.

Among the winners, a team from M. S. Ramaiah Institute of Engineering, Bengaluru, took the top spot with their NextGen Self-Charging Hybrid Scooter. The runner-up position went to students from RNS Institute of Technology, Bengaluru, for their project TETROBOT, a modular robotic arm.

The second runner-up was awarded to PSNA College of Engineering and Technology, Dindigul, for their project AERIS – Stability Starts with Comfort. Meanwhile, the People’s Choice Award was claimed by a team from ITER, Bhubaneswar, for their project C.H.I.R.A.N.J.E.E.V.I.

The event also featured Padma Shri Dr. Shubha V. Iyengar, veteran scientist from CSIR-NAL and known for developing Drishti, India’s first indigenous runway visibility measurement system, as the Chief Guest. Reflecting on the platform, she highlighted how TECHgium® is helping turn student ideas into practical, real-world innovations, adding that such initiatives play a crucial role in nurturing the next wave of engineering breakthroughs.

After a rigorous nine-month mentorship and evaluation process led by LTTS engineers and industry experts, 34 finalist teams showcased their prototypes before a panel of industry leaders, academicians, and analysts. The winners walked away with prizes worth over ?18 lakh.
