Littelfuse Launches Ultra-Mini TDB SMT DIP Switch Series

THE VOLT VOTES

Littelfuse has launched the Littelfuse/C&K® TDB Series, an ultra-miniature, half-pitch surface-mount DIP switch family designed for high-density PCB layouts where space, reliability, and manufacturability matter most.

As electronics keep shrinking, engineers are under pressure to squeeze configuration and addressing switches into tighter spaces without sacrificing electrical performance or assembly yield.

The TDB Series tackles this by shrinking the internal mechanism and offering a compact 1.27 mm half-pitch footprint, which helps pack more components onto the board while still delivering solid electrical and mechanical reliability.

The switches use gold-plated bifurcated contacts for stable, low-resistance signal paths, and a top-tape sealed construction that works seamlessly with automated surface?mount soldering and post-reflow aqueous cleaning.

Positioned as a companion to C&K’s TDA Series, the TDB Series gives designers more flexibility when they need very small, surface-mount DIP switches.

Rated up to 50 V DC and 100 mA (steady state), with a mechanical and electrical life of 1,000 cycles, the TDB Series is well suited for reliable configuration settings in a wide range of low-power control systems.

The switches are compatible with standard SMT processes and ship in tubes or tape-and-reel packaging, making them a practical choice for high-volume production.

Leadership Comment

“When space is critical, and reliability is non-negotiable, the TDB Series delivers exactly what design engineers need,” said Jesus Santos, Global Product Manager at Littelfuse. “Its ultra-miniature footprint, gold-plated contacts, and washable sealing enable confident designs even in dense, demanding applications.”
