Realtime Robotics has appointed Kevin Carlin as Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately, as the industrial AI company looks to scale alongside surging demand for its Resolver platform from global automakers.

Carlin succeeds co-founder Peter Howard, who will remain closely involved as non-executive Chairman of the Board. The leadership change comes as Realtime Robotics reports accelerating adoption of Resolver among top OEMs, paired with significant headcount growth and ongoing enhancements to the platform’s capabilities.
Why the shift now?
Automakers are increasingly leaning on AI-driven automation to compress vehicle development timelines, manage more complex production systems, and gain an edge in a fiercely competitive market.
That trend has translated into stronger traction for Resolver since its commercial launch last year, with manufacturers using the software to plan factories and robot systems earlier in the development cycle.
By letting engineers evaluate, simulate, and optimize manufacturing decisions up front, Resolver helps reduce engineering bottlenecks, speed up program launches, and react faster to shifting production demands, capabilities that have resonated particularly well in automotive.
Carlin’s background
Carlin brings more than two decades of international leadership across semiconductors, industrial automation, and AI. He joined Realtime Robotics in 2022 as Chief Commercial Officer and was promoted to President and Chief Commercial Officer in 2025.
Before Realtime, he spent over 13 years at Analog Devices, where he most recently built an internal startup focused on AI- and machine learning-driven sensing and analytics.
He also held senior roles across Analog Devices’ Automation & Energy Group and Industrial Automation business, with extensive experience leading sales and SaaS-oriented industrial AI operations in Europe and the U.S.
What Resolver does
Realtime Robotics’ Resolver platform automates and optimizes some of the most complex parts of factory planning and robot system design and deployment.
Instead of waiting until equipment is installed to work out layouts and motions, manufacturers can simulate and refine entire robotic systems in parallel, reducing rework and delays on the shop floor.
The company says early users are seeing meaningful cycle-time improvements and are beginning to embed Resolver into standard workflows and even RFPs, particularly in high-mix, high-complexity automotive environments. With Carlin now at the helm, Realtime Robotics is positioning itself to expand that momentum and scale its go-to-market as more manufacturers seek to “automate their automation.”
