Contactless payment is expected to be integrated in every modern smartwatch and smart ring. By 2030, Infineon reports that it will see up to 4 billion NFC enabled devices, including roughly 700 million wearables.

To meet this surge, Infineon Technologies has launched SECORA Connect X, a plug and play solution that turns smart wearables into fully functional payment devices.
Paired with Infineon’s new SECORA Wallet and SECORA Token Requestor, integrated with Mastercard® (MDES) and Visa® (VTS), it enables card digitization and the creation of custom branded wallet apps. This one stop shop for wearable payments cuts time to market through seamless integration and certification, while delivering flexible design, card tokenization, and secure payment functionality for any active wearable.
SECORA Connect X is a highly efficient, secure payment solution built for active smart wearables like smart rings, sports watches, and fitness trackers.
At its core is a Secure Element that enables contactless payments with Mastercard, Visa, and many other NFC applications. Payment credentials live securely on the chip, not in the cloud.
As the smallest NFC payment card emulation device on the market, it delivers ultra low power consumption for longer battery life and lower costs thanks to fewer external components. Its compact design fits into any wearable, no matter the size, shape, or material.
The solution supports Java Card and GlobalPlatform standards with comprehensive development tools for smooth integration. Pre certified applets and 1 MB of memory let developers build custom NFC and Bluetooth enabled applications with ease.
SECORA Wallet and SECORA Token Requestor extend EMVCo payment functionality to any Secure Element based smart wearable through card digitization.
As a Token Requestor, Infineon connects directly with payment networks like Mastercard or Visa to request and manage payment tokens, removing Primary Account Numbers (PANs) from the payment chain for added security.
Tokenized payment credentials are stored directly on the Secure Element, adding an extra security layer without cloud dependency. These tokenized wearables work globally at all contactless POS terminals, without needing a phone or third party wallet. The integrated white label SDK gives OEMs full branding flexibility and frictionless integration into existing apps. SECORA Wallet supports both iOS and Android, ensuring wide accessibility.
For IoT applications, SECORA Connect X is complemented by SECORA Connect E, designed for connected devices like AR/VR headsets, laptops, tablets, gaming consoles, and PC accessories.
Infineon delivers a full service offering from end to end design to deployment, backed by expertise in major technical and payment industry bodies including EMVCo, FiRa, GlobalPlatform, ISO, Java Card Forum, NFC Forum, and Calypso Network Association. OEMs adopting SECORA solutions gain industry leading security, compliance, and innovation rolled into one.
