ETH WIZ 3 Click is MIKROE’s latest Ethernet interface Click board™, designed to simplify and speed up embedded development. Known for its modular hardware and software ecosystem, MIKROE continues to help developers move quickly from proof-of-concept to fully functional prototypes.
With ETH WIZ 3 Click, adding Ethernet connectivity and processing power to embedded and IoT designs becomes much more straightforward.
At the heart of the board is the W55RP20 System-in-Package from WIZNet. This compact solution combines the widely used W5500 Ethernet controller with the Raspberry Pi RP2040 dual-core microcontroller. It comes with a built-in TCP/IP stack that supports multiple protocols, along with an integrated Ethernet PHY for reliable connectivity.
The board also packs a dual Arm Cortex-M0+ processor running at up to 133MHz, on-chip Flash and SRAM, and flexible communication options via SPI or UART, selectable through a COMM SEL jumper.
A USB Type-C interface powered by an internal USB 2.0 controller adds further convenience. For developers, practical touches like TCP activity indicators, link status LEDs, debugging test points, and exposed Ethernet magnetics center taps (for optional PoE support) make development and testing easier.
As part of MIKROE’s ever-growing ecosystem now over 1970 mikroBUS™-compatible boards, ETH WIZ 3 Click integrates seamlessly into existing setups. It also includes the ClickID feature, allowing host systems to automatically recognize the board, which helps streamline integration.
Supported by the open-source mikroSDK libraries, developers have plenty of flexibility to evaluate, customize, and build applications efficiently.
