Operating as the company’s NI Software Center of Excellence, the site is Emerson’s second-largest testing R&D hub worldwide and a major engine for its AI-driven engineering and validation technologies.
The expansion is a direct response to a growing global engineering bottleneck. As products across the semiconductor, aerospace, defense, life sciences, and transportation sectors become increasingly software-heavy, companies are struggling to validate them quickly.
By scaling up its Bangalore operations, Emerson is boosting its capacity to develop automated workflows, integrated testing platforms, and AI-enabled software designed to shorten development cycles for customers globally.
This investment fundamentally shifts the Bangalore site’s role, transitioning it from a regional capability center into a core global innovation hub with worldwide product responsibility.
The move also perfectly times India’s own domestic tech boom. With government-backed initiatives like the India Semiconductor Mission and the National Electric Mobility Mission Plan driving heavy investments into local chip manufacturing and EV production, the demand for sophisticated testing and validation in the region has surged.
The expanded R&D center operates alongside a second Emerson facility in Bangalore that handles application engineering, calibration, and customer support—a dual-site setup that directly connects global technology development with local market expertise.
