A Game-Changer for High-Efficiency Power
These DPAK-packaged GaN power ICs stand out for their high integration. Each combines essential drive, control, and protection features alongside built-in EMI filtering and current sensing, streamlining designs and slashing time-to-market for engineers.
GaN tech promises tighter footprints, lower losses, and superior thermal performance over silicon alternatives ideal for compact, energy-hungry applications in data centers and EVs.
The debut follows a December 2025 licensing deal with U.S.-based Navitas, allowing Cyient to adapt proven GaN platforms for local needs while serving as a backup supplier for Navitas’ established products.
Sampling kicks off in June 2026, with plans for expanded portfolios and eventual domestic manufacturing to bolster India’s semiconductor self-reliance.
Leadership Insights
Suman Narayan, CEO of Cyient Semiconductors, emphasized the strategic shift: “With this launch, Cyient Semiconductors is introducing its first family of GaN power ICs, marking our entry into high-performance power semiconductors with a strong roadmap for expansion. Built on Navitas’ proven GaN platform, these highly integrated devices are designed to accelerate adoption and support next-generation power applications.”
Chris Allexandre, President and CEO of Navitas Semiconductor, said, “India is a key market in Navitas’s high growth, high power strategy with Navitas 2.0. This launch furthers our vision of a robust local supply chain and manufacturing in India for the governments “Make in India” initiatives. The partnership with Cyient delivers a strong local support infrastructure for our customers as we pivot our India strategy to focus on GaN based product enablement and customer success”
GaN’s Advantages
As edge AI and EV adoption surges, GaN’s exhibits 20x faster switching, higher efficiency, and smaller size. This position it as a cornerstone for next-gen power delivery. Cyient’s entry strengthens local supply chains, reduces import dependence, and opens doors for Indian firms in competitive global markets.
Cyient Semiconductors expect to begin sampling the first set of GaN power products by June 2026. Customers can contact Cyient Semiconductors directly for datasheets, samples, and technical support.
