Olivia Breen, a renowned British Paralympian sprinter and long jumper, is now a partner of Osprey Charging. The three-time Paralympian and two-time Commonwealth Games champion will promote Osprey’s aim of making EV charging accessible and inclusive for all electric vehicle users by serving as an official Osprey Ambassador.
Osprey has been leading the way in developing accessibility standards and best practices for the EV charging industry for a considerable amount of time. It was the first charge point operator (CPO) in the UK to construct accessible public charging EV hubs and is a strong advocate for accessibility standards like BSI PAS1899.
The first CPO to join ChargeSafe, a public charging endorsement organization that unbiasedly evaluates EV charging stations for accessibility and safety, was Osprey.
For Osprey, accessibility is a multifaceted consideration. It includes not only the usability features that help wheelchair users and people with limited mobility maneuver around their vehicle with a charging cable—often while juggling kids or shopping bags—but also the physical space and charger access that are crucial, said the official release.
Beyond the physical world, Osprey’s commitment to accessibility includes enhanced usability, unambiguous visual cues, and contactless payment methods that facilitate simple, one-handed transactions and guarantee a smooth EV charging experience for all drivers, regardless of their mobility issues.
All of Osprey’s new sites, whether they’re urban compact sites or high-power charging hubs, are now made to maximize the amount of space available for charging while also improving physical accessibility. Additionally, it is working to update older websites to maximize accessibility and enhance the driving experience.

Osprey was chosen as the first charge point operator (CPO) partner by Motability Operations, the largest leasing firm in the UK and the company that provides the Motability Scheme to over 690,000 handicapped individuals, in September of last year.
Through the partnership, Motability Scheme EV drivers may use the Motability Go Charge App to choose a site, charge, and make payment using Osprey’s GB-wide quick charging network, all before checking the location for accessibility. Because of this smooth billing and charging process as well as peer ratings being visible on the app, Osprey has been able to increase Motability Scheme drivers’ trust while selecting and utilizing public charging.
