NTPC officially announces that it is targeting to add 5GW of installed capacity to extend its commitment towards leveraging clean, reliable, and affordable energy solutions.
In its commitment to environmental stewardship, NTPC plans to increase its renewable energy capacity by 3GW while also aiming to enhance its thermal energy capacity by 2GW.
As of now, the PSU has successfully added 3,924 MW of new capacity in FY24, reaching a cumulative installed capacity of almost 76 GW.
The operational renewable energy capacity stands at 3.5 GW, with a significant pipeline of over 20 GW. Looking ahead to 2032, the PSU aims to raise its non-fossil fuel capacity to 45-50% of the company’s portfolio, with 60 GW of renewable energy capacity out of a total portfolio of 130 GW.
