Kodiak Robotics – a company majorly shaping up self-driving trucks across the globe has signed an extended partnership with its semiconductor partner, Ambarella.
Kodiak Robotics is an attempt to foster its embedded computing solution with Ambarella. The autonomous truck major opts Ambarella CV3-AD685 AI domain control system-on-chip (SoC).
As reported in the media, Kodiak Robotics uses the new AI SoC in its multi-sensor perception, fusion and path planning. Also, the Ambarella SoC assists in running neural networks and processing an array of cameras, Lidars and radars.
Earlier, Kodiak Robotics integrated Ambarella’s CV2AQ AI perception SoC in its autonomous truck camera data processing.

Kodiak says the new SoC will bring improvements in safety and performance. Since the establishment of the firms’ partnership a year ago, Kodiak has logged more than 300,000 miles on Ambarella’s CV2 AI perception SoC while delivering over 875 loads, with the chip enabling premium image quality in extreme conditions including rain, fog and darkness.
