Dirac will introduce Dirac Spaces to the U.S. market at the AES Automotive Audio 2026 International Conference, set for July 29-31 at Huntington Place in Detroit, Michigan.

First unveiled in April 2026 at Auto China in Beijing, Dirac Spaces will make its U.S. debut with live demonstrations at the Audio Foundry booth. The company will showcase the technology in a Volvo EX90, featuring systems from Dirac, Primax, BdSound, Tymphany and Bluacs, with Dirac Unison and Dirac Spaces operating in a production-vehicle setting.
Attendees will also be able to experience a Karma Revero equipped with technologies from Dirac, BdSound, Tymphany and Bluacs, demonstrating Dirac Unison and Dirac Dimensions.
Dirac Spaces is designed to bring venue-inspired listening into the cabin. Rather than simply improving playback, it recreates the sound and feel of real acoustic environments, giving music more space, depth and naturalness while helping automakers create a more immersive and brand-specific audio experience.
How Dirac Spaces works
Dirac Spaces uses Dirac’s proprietary MIMO sound field control technology to measure both the vehicle cabin and a target acoustic environment, then reproduce the reflections, decay, directionality and spatial character of that space inside the car. The result is a more coherent sound field that can make a cabin feel like an intimate studio, a warm stage or a large performance hall.
The solution comes in two versions. Signature Spaces lets automakers work with iconic venues to develop branded acoustic environments tailored to their vehicles, while Designed Spaces offers curated environments measured from real-world venues and engineered by Dirac, including Warm Stage and Grand Hall.
At AES Detroit, the Volvo EX90 will demonstrate Dirac Unison and Dirac Spaces, while the Karma Revero will feature Dirac Unison and Dirac Dimensions, underscoring Dirac’s growing portfolio of software-defined automotive audio tools.
Pioneer partnership
Dirac will also highlight a collaboration with Pioneer through a Volvo XC90 demo equipped with Pioneer speakers.
The setup will showcase Dirac Unison integrated into Pioneer’s next-generation Integrated Sound Platform, along with Klippel technology, to show how Pioneer’s scalable amplifier platform supports advanced software-defined audio within a single system.
Built for software-defined vehicles, Pioneer’s Integrated Sound Platform provides a flexible base for integrating audio processing directly into the amplifier.
By embedding Dirac processing into the platform, the companies aim to deliver a more immersive listening experience while simplifying integration and giving automakers greater flexibility in system design, packaging and performance.
Broader automotive push
Dirac automotive technologies are already used in vehicles from Volvo, Polestar, Genesis, NIO, BYD and other global brands.
As cabins increasingly serve as spaces for entertainment, comfort, productivity and connection, sound has become a bigger part of vehicle identity and the overall customer experience. Dirac says its software-driven audio solutions help automakers deliver premium sound across models, markets and platforms.
