MIKROE just launched LTE Cat.1 5 Click, a new cellular wireless connectivity Click board™ designed for developers who need reliable, low-power IoT connectivity in Europe. These compact Click add-on boards let you move quickly from proof-of-concept to prototyping and coding your next embedded project.

The LTE Cat.1 5 Click (Europe version) delivers 4G LTE Cat 1 bis cellular connectivity built specifically for European IoT, M2M, and consumer applications where dependable data transmission and power efficiency are non-negotiable.
The board runs on the GC02S1-EU2, a 3GPP LTE Release 14 Cat 1 bis compliant module from Sequans. It uses Sequans’ optimized Calliope 2 silicon, which boosts performance while cutting power consumption. Built for Europe, it supports LTE bands B1, B3, B8, B20, and B28 across roughly 703MHz to 2170MHz, delivering up to 10Mbps downlink and 5Mbps uplink.
You also get UART communication, firmware upgrade support, hardware flow control, wake and reset functions, debug access via UART1 and JTAG, and 1.8V uSIM card support.
LTE Cat.1 5 Click joins MIKROE’s massive family of 1,975 mikroBUS™-enabled Click boards, a recent addition to their ever-growing lineup.
The board includes the ClickID function, which lets the host system automatically identify the board making setup hassle-free. You can use it on any host system that supports the mikroBUS™ standard, and it comes with mikroSDK open-source libraries, giving you excellent flexibility for evaluation and customization.
