AVILOO’s new EV Battery Warranty is reshaping how used electric vehicles are evaluated and sold. For the first time, an independent battery diagnosis is being turned into a financially backed warranty transforming what was once a major uncertainty into a clear, trusted selling point for both dealers and buyers.

At the heart of this offering is AVILOO Connect, a new digital platform designed for professional EV remarketing. It gives dealers, marketplaces, fleet operators, and wholesalers full visibility into the entire battery testing lifecycle from initial data capture to final warranty issuance.
The warranty builds on AVILOO’s established FLASH Test, currently the only independent quick battery test available. While the FLASH Test and its certified seal provide a snapshot of a battery’s current condition, the new warranty goes a step further by offering protection against future performance issues. Importantly, it is issued as a separate, standalone document, clearly distinct from the diagnostic certificate.
What sets this warranty apart is its data-driven structure. For each vehicle, AVILOO calculates a specific State of Health (SoH) threshold based on its extensive battery diagnostics database, the largest of its kind globally.
This threshold must be maintained over a one-year period and up to 20,000 kilometers of driving. Buyers can conduct a FLASH Test within that period, and if the battery’s SoH drops below the defined limit, they receive €3,000 in compensation along with a refund for the test. The warranty introduces a transparent financial framework that makes purchasing a used EV far less risky.
More importantly, the EV Battery Warranty addresses one of the biggest barriers in the used EV market i.e. trust. Battery condition has long been difficult to evaluate, leaving buyers hesitant and dealers exposed.
By combining precise diagnostics with forward-looking performance assurance, AVILOO is bringing much-needed clarity to the process. Dealers can now offer a meaningful performance guarantee without assuming additional risk, while buyers gain a reliable safety net around the most critical and costly component of an electric vehicle.
Leadership Comment
