SEMCO Technologies, a specialist in designing and manufacturing critical components for semiconductor production, has secured additional Semiconductor Component Capacity at its Montpellier industrial site to support the Group’s next phase of growth.

Funded by SEMCO’s majority shareholder, this expansion is designed to significantly boost production capacity in response to rising demand positioning the company for strong medium- and long-term growth.
Starting in 2025, the company began automating its electrostatic chuck (eChuck) production line in Montpellier.
The company commissioned an automated screen-printing line by year-end, and automation of polishing operations is underway, with full deployment expected in the second half of 2026.
These upgrades will sharpen productivity, improve process reliability, and strengthen the site’s ability to handle a significant ramp-up for Semiconductor Component Capacity.
Given the tightening demand from end-user industries, SEMCO took a proactive step to secure access to additional, independent industrial infrastructure right next to its current facility.
The company now has exclusive use of a new building exceeding 900 m², including a planned ~500 m² cleanroom and a ~200 m² controlled-environment room. This space is designed to accommodate SEMCO’s future infrastructure needs and will ultimately enable the company to double its production capacity once again.
Should SEMCO move forward with building the cleanroom and deploying automated
production lines in this new facility, the investment is estimated at approximately €5 million in CAPEX.
Leadership Comment
Laurent Pélissier, Chairman and CEO of SEMCO Technologies, said: “This extension project allows us to reliably anticipate the future needs of our markets while enhancing our organization’s flexibility and our ability to adapt to changing demand.”
