KPIT Technologies has signed an agreement to acquire a majority stake in Cymotive, an Israel-based automotive cybersecurity specialist, subject to the achievement of certain milestones.
As part of the deal, KPIT will initially invest $10 million in preference capital, which will convert into equity once Cymotive meets predefined performance targets.
Following this, KPIT plans to acquire the remaining stake in phases, ultimately taking full ownership of the company by mid-2029.
The total deal value is expected to range between $60 million and $120 million, including the initial investment, with the final consideration tied to Cymotive’s revenue and EBIT performance over time.
This acquisition aligns with KPIT’s strategy to strengthen its capabilities in next-generation mobility technologies. As vehicles rapidly evolve into software-defined and AI-driven systems, cybersecurity has become essential, not just for safety and compliance, but also for building trust and long-term differentiation.
Cymotive, founded by leading Israeli cybersecurity experts along with Volkswagen Group’s software arm CARIAD, brings deep expertise in automotive cybersecurity across the entire vehicle lifecycle.
Its capabilities include secure system architecture, threat modeling, intrusion detection, continuous monitoring, and regulatory compliance. The company has established itself as a trusted partner to several global automotive players.
As KPIT to acquire Cymotive, the company aims to enhance its existing portfolio with advanced cybersecurity solutions. Combined with KPIT’s Beacon mobility intelligence platform, this will enable OEMs to take a more integrated approach embedding cybersecurity into vehicle platforms from design through to production and operations.
Cymotive will continue to operate independently with its current leadership, team, and customer base, while also benefiting from KPIT’s global delivery network, scale, and deep automotive expertise.
