At the prestigious IN-SPACe Model Rocketry and CANSAT India Student Competition 2024–25, Lovely Professional University (LPU) student innovators won the coveted Best Design Award. The Indian National Space Promotion and Authorization Centre (IN-SPACe), in association with the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) and the Astronautical Society of India, arranged the grand finale.

Over 67 student teams from all over India participated in the four-day event, making it one of the most prominent venues for up-and-coming space scientists and engineers in the nation.
Under the mentorship of Mandeep Singh and Ruhul Amin Choudhury, students Priyansh Kumar Patel, Nandish Panchal, Toyib Untoo, Vinay Bharadwaj, Chetan Yasaswy, Zyan, Toushif Raza, and Shalu Yadav made up Team Pinaka, which represented LPU with exceptional talent and ingenuity.
They won the top design award in stiff competition owing to their winning rocket design, which was distinguished by its remarkable engineering perfection, high aerodynamic efficiency, and creative payload integration.
Prominent figures such as Dr. Pawan Goenka (Chairman, IN-SPACe), Shri Shashank Mani (Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Deoria), Shri A.K. Anil Kumar (Director, ISTRAC), and Group Captain Shri Shubhanshu Shukla interacted with the students and praised their inventiveness, cooperation, and dedication to furthering India’s space vision.
By giving students the chance to take part in international contests and work together on scientific projects, LPU re-confirms its position in innovation, research, and experiential learning. By encouraging young people’s curiosity, inventiveness, and teamwork, it keeps bolstering India’s innovation ecosystem, concluded its official release.
