Robin Lyle has been appointed Vice President of Research and Development at Cambridge GaN Devices (CGD), a clean-tech, fabless semiconductor company that creates energy-efficient GaN-based power devices that simplify the design and implementation of sustainable electronics.
With Lyle on board, CGD will be even more committed to its goal of transforming power electronics and hastening the switch to energy-efficient technologies. Lyle, who has worked in the power semiconductor sector for 30 years, adds a wealth of knowledge and perspective to the position.
As CGD expands its product line to meet the power-hungry needs of data centers, higher power industrial power supplies, and EV applications like DC-to-DC converters, on-board chargers, and even traction inverters, Robin Lyle impressive background in analogue and power semiconductor technology—most recently at power module company Dynex—will be extremely helpful.
Robin Lyle has strong ties to academics as well. He holds a formal position at the University of Nottingham, where he works with the undergraduates and helps design the syllabus as a member of the industry advisory board for electronic engineering.
