Philip Carter has been named senior vice president and chief financial officer (CFO) of Skyworks Solutions, with effect from September 8, 2025. Carter will be in charge of Skyworks’ treasury, investor relations, financial planning, and oversight of the company’s international finance and IT departments.

Carter comes to Skyworks from Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (AMD), where he has been in charge of the company’s entire accounting operations since November 2024 as its corporate vice president and chief accounting officer.
Philip Carter was the principal accounting officer, corporate controller, and vice president of Skyworks before joining AMD. He oversaw enterprise-wide strategic operational projects for more than seven years at Skyworks, including the establishment of strong reporting systems to support the company’s expansion, operational scalability, and financial transformation.
He previously worked for more than eight years at Broadcom Inc., where he assisted in changing the accounting department’s personnel, procedures, and systems at a time of explosive expansion. Ernst & Young, LLP was where he started his career.
He is a certified public accountant (CPA) in California and a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). He earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from California State University, Fullerton, and his master’s degree in business administration from the University of Southern California.
