Sixth Edition of “PXIMate” Reference Book for T&M Engineers Now Available

The sixth edition of Pickering Interfaces’ well-known reference book, “PXIMate: A practical guide to using PXI,” is now available. The purpose of this reference manual is to provide T&M engineers with useful, hands-on knowledge regarding the design and building of PXI-based automated test and measurement systems._PXIMate A practical guide to using PXI for T&M engineers the volt post

An overview of PXI, the scalable, high-performance modular instrumentation standard that was first introduced in 1997, as well as details on the technology underlying PXI and PXIe (PXI Express) chassis and the switching, simulation, and instrumentation modules they can contain, are covered in the 92-page reference guide PXIMate.

The book, which is intended for engineers who want to construct PXI-based automated test and measurement systems, will assist novices in comprehending the standard and act as a useful guide for more experienced users.

The sixth edition of PXIMate, which was released as Pickering celebrated 25 years of supporting PXI, is the first revision in nearly ten years and offers a substantial update to this well-known reference book. It includes hardware and software specs as well as updates to functionality since 2014.

Additionally, PXIMate is designed for T&M engineers who wish to learn more about how to maximize the return from PXI-based test systems, as PXI is now widely used as a test and measurement standard.

It provides engineers with useful information for choosing and combining PXI software, modules, and chassis to create affordable and scalable PXI systems.

Along with recommendations for questions to pose to your test engineering team and any potential PXI vendor, there is a new section on the background and history of modular testing.

Additionally, there are sections on choosing mass interconnect systems, cooling the chassis system, and wiring your test system to the device-under-test (DUT).

Lastly, a section written by Pickering’s knowledgeable Applications Engineering team provides helpful guidance and tips for building a test system.
