IONAGE and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) announced a strategic alliance. Through this agreement, HPCL’s 5000+ EV charging network will be integrated onto the IONAGE platform, improving accessibility, visibility, and making the charging process easier for owners of electric vehicles.
IONAGE is working to build a strong network of more than 100,000 EV charging stations by 2028, which will enable more than 10,000 SMBs to enter the EV charging market and help the government achieve its goal of 30% EV penetration by 2030.
Both businesses are dedicated to giving all EV owners a smooth charging experience and convenience as Indians get used to EVs and drive emission-free. This will increase the number of charging stations to satisfy the country’s increasing demand for electric mobility through platforms that are connected and intelligently enabled by technology.
Speaking about the collaboration, Mr Vimal Kumar, CEO, IONAGE Technologies said, “This collaboration is a significant milestone in our journey and underscores our commitment to building a sustainable, easily accessible EV charging infrastructure. We aim to continue playing our part in shaping the future of eMobility in India by democratising the EV charging ecosystem, eliminating barriers, and enhancing the overall EV ownership experience.”
The Federation of Federation of Automobile Dealers Association most recent statistics indicates that, in the fiscal year that ended in March 2025, the overall EV penetration rate in India across all vehicle categories was 7.8%.
