In order to guide the company’s strategic growth goals, MultiSensor AI announced the appointment of its new president and chief executive officer. On June 23, 2025, Mr. Asim Akram is anticipated to begin working for MSAI.
Asim Akram started out as a technology consultant for multinational companies like Accenture and KPMG. Later, he established and grew Orion, a SaaS platform business, where he oversaw growth throughout North America and successfully developed a recurring-revenue model.
Mr. Akram has since held a number of senior positions at Honeywell, where he effectively oversaw multinational operations with an emphasis on product innovation, operational discipline, and revenue development and margin improvement. In Honeywell’s fire and safety division, he was also instrumental in spearheading M&A integration initiatives.
Mr. Akram most recently oversaw ORBCOMM’s transportation division, where he effectively expanded operations by establishing strategic partnerships with value-added resellers, online marketplace platforms, and original equipment manufacturers while also growing ORBCOMM’s presence throughout the world.
Mr. Akram has a bachelor’s degree in engineering from Northeastern University, a master’s degree in business administration from M.I.T. Sloan School of Management, and a master’s degree in information management from Stevens Institute of Technology.
