MKS Insturments’ Aims to Drive the PCB Industry from Bangkok, Open New Facility

MKS Instruments has announced the inauguration of its cutting-edge Atotech chemical manufacturing and TechCenter facility at the Asia Industrial Estate Suvarnabhumi, located east of Bangkok, Thailand.MKS Instruments Atotech Chemical PCB industry in Bangkok the volt post

This strategic investment is consistent with MKS’ commitment to growing with its customers and providing localized expertise to expedite technical improvements throughout the area. The new facility also demonstrates MKS’ commitment to promoting Thailand’s rising presence in the PCB industry.

The facility will be built on an 11.7-acre area encompassing around 27,000 square meters, just 30 minutes from Bangkok International Airport. The facility will have: 

  • A state-of-the-art manufacturing space dedicated to producing chemicals for surface treatments and plating, serving industries such as Electronics and Automotive.
  • A TechCenter featuring advanced Electronics and General Metal Finishing plating equipment, along with laser machinery for innovative applications.
  • Fully equipped laboratories for analytics, quality control, and material science, supporting customer ramp-ups, ensuring high standards and continuous innovation.
  • Comprehensive technical service capabilities, including maintenance, spare parts, and support for new IIoT and software solutions tailored to the region’s installed equipment base.
  • A modern main office building designed to efficiently support administrative and operational functions.

The plant will produce process chemicals, provide customer service, and work on applications for sophisticated electronics and industrial sectors, all with the goal of fostering innovation and operational excellence.

With a total production capacity of 18,500 tons per year, this new MKS plant represents a $40 million+ investment, and operations are expected to begin in the second half of 2027.
