Spectrum Instrumentation introduces new AWGs with 10 GS/s output and 16-bit resolution. Spectrum Instrumentation has added four new Arbitrary Waveform Generators (AWGs) to its DN2.63x NETBOX series, delivering output rates of up to 10 GS/s and 16-bit resolution.
These high-speed instruments connect directly to PCs, laptops, or even the office network, and are easily controlled over Ethernet. They are designed for automated and remote testing and can generate wideband signals ranging from DC to 2.5 GHz.
To connect to any PC or network, the compact and lightweight AWGs just plug in a regular Ethernet/LXI connection. High-resolution 16-bit DAC technology produces waveforms with high purity and low noise, making these AWGs perfect for stimulus-response or closed-loop testing scenarios.
Each AWG channel has its own DAC and can operate in single-ended or differential mode, with fully configurable output ranges. Waveform amplitudes can reach ±500 mV at 50? in single-ended mode and ±1 V at 100? in differential mode. High impedance termination doubles output levels, reaching up to ±2V.
The DN2.63x models come in single- or dual-channel configurations and have 2 GSamples (4 GB) of standard memory, which may be expanded to 8 GSamples (16 GB). This allows for uninterrupted playback of extended waveforms (up to 800 ms @ 10 GS/s).
Users can choose from many smart trigger functions and generating modes, such as single-shot, repeated, multiple replay, and FIFO streaming. The FIFO mode allows new data to be transferred to the AWG while replaying a previously recorded waveform.
Each unit includes Spectrum’s SBench 6 software for waveform creation, control, and analysis. Customers can create waveforms from equations, use the built-in function generator, or import data from digitizers, oscilloscopes, or simulation software. SDKs are available for C++, Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW, and other programming languages.
Integration into automated systems is seamless with front panel connectors for external clock and trigger signals, as well as multi-purpose I/O lines serving as marker outputs, for status flags, or synchronous/asynchronous signaling.
A digital pulse generator option is also available. Weighing under 7 kg and with optional rack-mount kits, these units are ideal for mobile, benchtop and rack-based setups.
These new ultrafast AWGs are the latest additions to Spectrum’s generatorNETBOX lineup, which now comprises 35 different models from 40 MS/s to 10 GS/s. All NETBOX units include a 5-year warranty, free lifetime software/firmware updates, and support directly from Spectrum Instrumentation design engineers.
