As part of its strategic commitment to developing domestic semiconductor production, Spirit Electronics has acquired SMART Microsystems, which is based at Lorain County Community College (LCCC) in Ohio.
This expansion into Northeast Ohio is an important step toward promoting academic and industrial partnership to boost innovation and workforce development in the US semiconductor sector.
Spirit Electronics and LCCC are establishing the groundwork for a robust, innovative semiconductor future.
SMART Microsystems, located on the LCCC campus, will be a center for advanced research and education in materials, MEMS, and advanced packaging technologies, such as 2.5D and 3D integration.
