In accordance with the Non-Terrestrial Networks (NTN) NB-IoT standard, Anritsu Corporation has announced that Samsung Electronics has chosen to utilize the Anritsu Universal Wireless Test Set MT8870A on the mass-production lines of the Galaxy S25, the company’s next-generation smartphone.
Smartphones that enable NTN NB-IoT can use satellites, Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS), and other NTN communication tools. This enables reliable communication services in places without terrestrial networks, such as mountainous regions and places without wireless communication infrastructure.
For the Galaxy S25, the flagship model of Samsung Electronics’ MX division, the MT8870A provides a Tx/Rx performance test environment for wireless communications protocols, such AS NTN NB-IoT.
For any platform, the Universal Wireless Test Set provides up to four test ports, allowing for simultaneous testing on every port. The MT8870A is a perfect tester for use with devices that need to support NTN NB-IoT because it also supports 5G NR, WLAN, and Bluetooth.
In order to increase test efficiency and save space in mass-production lines, Anritsu will keep offering test solutions for NTN-compliant devices that are manufactured in large quantities.
