Cadence To Acquire Secure-IC For Embedded Security

Cadence declared that it has finalized a deal to purchase Secure-IC, a prominent supplier of embedded security intellectual property platforms. Cadence’s rapidly growing portfolio of cutting-edge, silicon-proven IP, such as interface, memory, AI/ML, and DSP solutions, will be enhanced by the addition of Secure-IC’s talent and highly complementary, proven portfolio of embedded security IP, security solutions, security evaluation tools, and services.Cadence Buys Secure-IC for Embedded Security, silicon IP the volt post

Top-tier customers including SK Hynix Memory Solutions America, Synaptics, Silicon Labs, and Faraday Technology are part of Secure-IC’s clientele.

These clients come from a variety of important global industries, including consumer electronics, automotive, data centers, mobile, networking, aerospace and defense, and the Internet of Things.

With Cadence’s current IP offerings—which range from protocol controllers and AI accelerators to supporting clients using different CPU architectures—this will present mutually beneficial synergistic go-to-market opportunities.

Secure-IC’s security solutions will be well-equipped to handle the increasing complexity of embedded cybersecurity, guaranteeing strong answers for the always changing problems of linked systems.

Secure-IC has completed more than 500 successful projects globally and has continuously provided partners and clients in a variety of industries with comprehensive security solutions.

By combining Secure-IC’s top embedded cybersecurity solutions with Cadence’s decades of IP and subsystem design experience, this acquisition will make the computational software company more capable of satisfying its customers demands in the rapidly changing SoC market.

Customers of Secure-IC will benefit from this alignment since it will increase worldwide reach, guarantee long-term stability, and speed up roadmap implementation while upholding the highest support and quality standards.

By adding Secure-IC’s complementary products (Securyzr, Laboryzr, and Expertyzr) to its portfolio, Cadence will be able to expand its capabilities, boost support for a variety of enterprises and industries, and expedite innovation. The company can now provide full end-to-end integrated security, simply provisionable, deployable and configurable to customer use cases.

Building on the companies’ demonstrated experience working together on the flagship chiplet project recently disclosed by Cadence, Secure-IC’s addition to Cadence’s expertise will have a particularly significant impact in the context of chiplet systems and complicated silicon solutions.

Secure-IC is based in Rennes, France, and has eight other offices and research facilities across the globe.

Subject to regulatory approvals and other standard closing requirements, the deal is anticipated to close in the first half of 2025. This year’s revenue and profitability are anticipated to be unaffected by the transaction.

Key Comments

“In our increasingly interconnected world, every semiconductor, chiplet and electronic system will require embedded security. Whether for consumer, data center, automotive, drone, robotics, or aerospace and defense applications, security is a foundational element of any design,” said Boyd Phelps, senior vice president and general manager of the Silicon Solutions Group at Cadence. “We continue to invest in our comprehensive IP and design services portfolio to provide more complete system solutions for our customers. The anticipated addition of Secure-IC’s proven embedded security IP and solutions is yet another example of our commitment to being our customers’ SoC design partner and delivering optimal value as they navigate the complexities of bringing AI-enabled SoCs and disaggregated designs to market faster and with greater impact.”

“Over the past 15 years, Secure-IC has been dedicated to safeguarding the digital future with cutting-edge technologies, multi-certified and compliant to worldwide cybersecurity regulations, that protect assets from manufacturing phases to mission mode and enable data protection at rest, in transmission and in computation, said Hassan Triqui, co-founder and CEO of Secure-IC.”Cadence Buys Secure-IC for Embedded Security, silicon IP the volt post

“By joining Cadence, we will secure the sustainability and operational strength necessary to continue our mission while creating a powerful synergy that accelerates innovation. Together, we are poised to scale globally, deliver enhanced value to our customers and pioneer the next generation of embedded cybersecurity solutions for complex silicon systems and chiplets following the closing of the transaction,” added Hasan.
