Unlocking India’s chip design potential with Analog and Digital Hackathons: Where Ideas Take the Circuit Form

In order to create the tiny circuits for a larger world, the ChipIN Center is inviting Semi Mavericks to take part in the Analog and Digital Hackathons under the ChipstoStart-up (C2S) Program in partnership with Synopsys, AMD, and CoreEL Technologies.

Students working as project staff or seeking undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral degrees in engineering at Indian colleges and universities Groups of up to five people, including a mentor.

The official ChipIN Center LinkedIn page states that registration will commence in January 2025.

The Government of India’s Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) established the ChipIN Center at C-DAC Bangalore to provide its services to the nation’s semiconductor design community.

For fabless chip designers from startups, SMEs, and academia, the facility serves as a one-stop shop offering semiconductor design tools, fab access, and virtual prototyping hardware lab access.

By serving the nation’s fabless chip design ecosystem, this unique Center aims to stimulate chip design in India. By facilitating access to both domestic and foreign foundries, the facility supports academic institutions, startups, and MSMEs with Multi-Project Wafer (MPW). For IC design flow, it offers centralized EDA Design Tools (Synopsys, Cadence, and Siemens-EDA).

Additionally, the facility offers design services such as Fab compliance checks, validation, design integration, working with a selected firm for fabricated chip packaging, and facilitating centralized characterization and prototype.ChipIN Center Analog and Digital Hackathons C2S Program the volt post

The establishment will also prioritize training on EDA technologies and building a reusable IP core library. In order to provide VLSI design instruction, the facility also includes a Virtual Prototyping Lab at NIELIT Calicut.
