Teledyne FLIR Thermal Camera Chosen For U.S. Army SRR Program Award

Red Cat Holdings has chosen Teledyne FLIR, a division of Teledyne Technologies Incorporated, to supply thermal imaging and artificial intelligence (AI) embedded software for its Black WidowTM small unmanned aircraft system (sUAS).

Following an evaluation process conducted by the Army Project Management Office for Uncrewed Aircraft Systems, Army Maneuver Battle Lab, Army Test and Evaluation Command, and Army Operational Test Center, Red Cat was chosen as the winner of the U.S. Army’s Short Range Reconnaissance (SRR) Program of Record. The Hadron 640R+, which is exempt from the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), offers a 64-MP visible camera and a 640×512 thermal camera with industry-leading thermal sensitivity in a package that is optimized for size, weight, and power (SWaP).

When combined with Prism AI embedded software, the combination can facilitate motion target indication, multiple object tracking, high-precision object detection within application-specific classes, and more.
