With a Rs 1,000 crore investment in the Dholera Special Investment Region (DSIR), the Gujarat government and electronics manufacturing giant Jabil inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to develop an EMS (Electronics Manufacturing Services) facility.
The deal, which was signed by the company and Gujarat’s Science and Technology Department in front of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, demonstrates the EMS manufacturer’s resolve to grow its business in India. Manufacturing solutions for networking, capital equipment, automotive, and other associated industries will be the main emphasis of the new site.
By 2027, the Dholera facility should be up and running, adding about 5,000 employment. Manish Gurvan, the Mission Director of the Gujarat State Electronics Mission (GSEM), and B N Shukla, the Operations Director of Jabil, signed the Memorandum of Understanding.
