The Union Education Ministry’s SWAYAM Plus project and the IIT Madras Pravartak Technologies Foundation are collaborating to introduce a training program for students and recent graduates in the semiconductor industry.

According to a release, graduates of the Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing, and Production departments as well as engineering and science students are targeted by this skill-based training program.

The semiconductor industry will be the main emphasis of the brief semiconductor training program, which will be physically taught at IIT Madras.

High-achieving students can receive placement aid through the program, which also equips them with practical training to prepare them for the workforce.

In addition to addressing difficult scientific issues pertinent to societal demands and sustainable development, the program seeks to encourage students and industry partners to pursue careers in electronics. Experts from IIT Madras are expected to give practical instruction along with underlying theory on the topic.

Launched in accordance with the National Education Policy’s emphasis on promoting and fostering employability-focused, skilling courses, SWAYAM Plus is a collaborative effort between the Ministry of Education, Government of India, and IIT Madras.

It seeks to provide graduates with employable skills in fields vital to India’s development. According to the statement, the goal is also to close the gap by matching academic courses with industry capabilities and emphasizing semiconductor training.

“The training program aims to bridge the gap between idealized concepts learned from the foundational courses in engineering and the real world,” stated R. Sarathi, Dean (Planning), IIT Madras. Our experience suggests that developing intuition in connection to general engineering and strengthening the necessary abilities are necessary. The training program’s contents for engineering students are identified through the skill gap between engineering curriculum and practising engineer,” he said in the release.SWAYAM Plus Project, IIT Madras Pravartak imbue Semiconductor Training Program tHE vOLT pOST

SWAYAM Plus, in collaboration with IITM Pravartak and IIT Madras, will issue the participation certificate. The baseline cost of lodging at the IIT Madras campus will be INR 650 per day per student, which covers both lodging and meals.

According to the statement, the short-term courses include Advanced Electronic Manufacturing with Power Electronics Fundamental and Digital Manufacturing Practice; Comprehensive Electronics and Embedded Systems; and Comprehensive Electronics and Advanced Embedded Technology with IoT.
