Qualcomm Wraps Up Sequans 4G IoT Tech Acquisition Deal

It is anticipated that the integration of Sequans 4G IoT technologies with Qualcomm’s end-to-end IoT solutions will improve the latter’s industrial IoT portfolio and increase its market share.Qualcomm Wraps Up Sequans 4G IoT Tech Acquisition Deal The Volt Post

Qualcomm has finalized the acquisition of Sequans Communications’ 4G IoT technologies as a calculated move to enhance its specifically designed connectivity solutions for the Internet of Things.

With a perpetual license to the technology, Sequans will be able to maintain customer support and continuous innovation for its planned 5G and 4G products. The acquisition is anticipated to strengthen Sequans 4G IoT position in the industry thanks to its solid financial standing and dedication to providing high-caliber IoT services and products.

To improve Qualcomm’s IoT connectivity solutions with Sequans’ low-power, high-performance technology, the company has purchased Sequans 4G IoT technology.

The acquisition, according to Sequans CEO Georges Karam, “Validates their technological strength and ensures continued support for their 4G portfolio.” With a strong financial sheet and an extensive portfolio that includes LTE-M/NB-IoT, LTE Cat 1bis, and the future 5G Redcap/eRedCap technology, Sequans is still in a strong position in the industry. Qualcomm intends to incorporate these 4G Internet of Things technologies into its specially designed IoT connectivity products.

Qualcomm said that its current line of low-power mobile connectivity products for the industrial sector will be strengthened by the acquisition of Sequans, a French IoT semiconductor player, and its 4G technology.

Sequans has a “perpetual licence” to use 4G IoT technology, according to Karam, who also stated that the agreement “ensures that our customers will continue to receive top-tier support” for the relevant goods.

According to Karam, Sequans is still in a strong position because of its “strong balance sheet, proven technology, and a comprehensive portfolio” that includes LTE-M, NB-IoT, LTE Cat 1 bis, and “the upcoming 5G Red Cap/eRed Cap technology.” “The asset sale is set to deliver significant benefits to our customers,” Karam said.

The agreement was announced late last month by Qualcomm and Sequans. The US chipmaker stated at the time that it intended to use the Sequans 4G IoT assets to establish a dominant position in the industry.

The deal’s completion, according to Qualcomm’s group general manager for embedded, industrial, and automotive IoT and cloud computing, Nakul Duggal, “supports our commitment to delivering cutting-edge” technologies in the industry.Qualcomm Wraps Up Sequans 4G IoT Tech Acquisition Deal The Volt Post
