BenQ is now the only participant at COMPUTEX to do this, stated its official release. BenQ’s comprehensive commitment to sustainability includes more than simply its application of ISO 20121 at this year’s COMPUTEX event. At the 2024 Taiwan and Asia Pacific Sustainability Action prizes (TSAA and APSAA), the Group was also honored for its advocacy for sustainability with six prizes, including two gold-level honors.

“BenQ is a human-centric brand. What matters to people matters to us. We believe that technology, product designs, and everything else we do should address people’s needs and well-being,” said Conway Lee, President and CEO of BenQ Corporation. “We aim to continue delivering solutions and experiences that are of value to our customers and positively impact society and our environment.”

BenQ Group’s SDG Goals Nurtured with ISO 20121

BenQ Group has committed to environmental sustainability through its support of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the UN and the RE100 worldwide effort, which is spearheaded by the Climate Group and CDP and aims to achieve 100% renewable energy usage by 2050. BenQ’s objective is to “Bring Enjoyment ‘N Quality to Life,” and it works to improve the lives of customers, consumers, society, and the earth.

The active involvement of BenQ Group in the RE100 program is indicative of their dedication to environmental sustainability. With the goal of reaching 100% renewable energy use by 2040 and net-zero emissions by 2050, BenQ Group has been working with a number of suppliers and partners to reduce carbon emissions.

Sustainable Product Lifecycles

As a major part of its business, BenQ considers lowering its carbon footprint through product lifecycle management, which involves a thorough evaluation of each stage of the product’s lifecycle.

BenQ is steadfast in its resolve to lowering its carbon footprint to net zero by 2050, whether it is through increasing the use of clean energy in the production process, lowering the usage of raw materials for packaging, or assisting customers in going green.BenQ ISO 20121 Event Sustainability Management System 1 the volt post1

Key Avenues for Achieving Sustainability

From a broader business standpoint, BenQ uses three primary strategies to accomplish its ESG objectives: lowering energy use, making the best use of raw materials, and using renewable energy for production.

BenQ’s Latest ESG Sustainability Efforts and Initiatives

BenQ’s main priorities at the corporate level are evaluating greenhouse gas emissions, enacting internal carbon pricing, utilizing solar energy produced on-site, confirming green energy purchases, establishing targets for reducing carbon emissions, putting energy management plans into action, and organizing environmentally friendly events.

Product Design

There is a power-saving Eco mode available for both the LCD/laser and BenQ Board Pro RP04 projectors. Advanced power-saving features available in the BenQ Board Pro RP04 include power scheduling, ENERGY STAR®-certified Eco mode, sleep mode, and a real-time power usage dashboard.

Next-generation SmartEco technology in BenQ’s LCD and laser projectors allows for up to 62% power savings.

Product Manufacturing

With a 9% lower weight, each BenQ Board 04 series device emits 100 fewer kilos of CO2. 50% post-consumer recycled materials go into the construction of BenQ SSI projectors. Additionally, BenQ’s production method has a verified carbon footprint for its products and is PAS-certified.

The BenQ Board Essential RE7503A, for instance, is credited as being the first interactive display to receive ISO 14067 certification, lowering the carbon footprint of the device over the course of its lifetime.

Packaging

The BenQ Board RM8604 packaging is 35.2% lighter and uses recycled cardboard with a simplified logo to reduce ink use, and SSI projector packaging is 80% plastic-free.

Shipping

BenQ Board 04 series projectors are supposed to be 30% more compact than BenQ SSI projectors. As a result, there is a 25% decrease in the frequency of transit, which reduces carbon emissions.
