ASDC Brings Robotics System Talent at WorldSkills Competition 2024

The Automotive Skills Development Council (ASDC) was a leading participant in nine skills at the prestigious WorldSkills Competition 2024, marking a significant step towards promoting technical skills among Indian youth.

With 15,400 registrants, a record, ASDC smashed records for worldwide competitiveness and skill development, said the official release.

ASDC demonstrated its steadfast dedication to fostering new talent in cutting-edge technologies, such as robotics system integration, during the recent India Skills 2024 opening event. The occasion emphasized ASDC’s leading position in preparing Indian candidates for the international arena and the council’s essential role in the nation’s talent ecosystem.

ASDC‘s targeted categories, which highlight the country’s emerging potential, have attracted a great deal of attention among the 63 talents included in WorldSkills. An important component of this endeavor has been the collaboration with FANUC India for the Robotics System Integration expertise. FANUC India has demonstrated exceptional assistance by providing cutting edge facilities, difficult test projects, and knowledgeable jury members’ advice.

Just 24 finalists were chosen to create 12 competitive teams from an exceptional pool of 419 candidates in this category. These teams will compete to represent India at WorldSkills Lyon, France in 2024.

Sudheer Gaur, one of the most notable participants, exemplifies the exceptional caliber of applicants that ASDC has fostered in order to meet these global problems.

FR Singhvi, President of ASDC, expressed his enthusiasm and vision at the inauguration, held at the FANUC facility. “Despite all the work that we are doing, very less is known to the people. The collaboration with FANUC India marks a pivotal step in our mission to aware and equip India’s youth with future-ready skills. Robotics and automation are not just tools but essential skills that will drive our industry forward. It is imperative that we continue to invest in our young talents, providing them with platforms to shine on the world stage.” said Mr. Singhvi.

He further added, “At ASDC, we train individuals and then we conduct test and make them future ready. Thus, we were also delighted to facilitate a visit for the robotics integration candidates to the Sansera Robotics plant in Bangalore, thanks to the support of Fanuc, providing an enriching and informative experience”

The ASDC effort is in line with the government’s broader goal of expanding India’s global industrial and technological footprint in addition to promoting skill development. ASDC is making sure that Indian adolescents are equipped to thrive in competitive settings and meet the demands of the modern workforce by emphasizing in-demand skills like Robotics System Integration.

As the national champions are ready to compete in Lyon, France, ASDC is pushing for vocational education and training as a means of bridging the skills gap that exists between industry demands and available supply.
