EdgeCortix which specializes in energy-efficient Artificial Intelligence (AI) processing at the edge, has announced that TDK Corporation’s corporate venture-capital subsidiary, TDK Ventures, is investing in its Series B fundraising round.

The next-gen high-performance SAKURA-X chiplet platform will be produced more quickly due to the TDK Ventures investment, which will also expedite the mass-production of EdgeCortix’s highly successful SAKURA-II AI co-processors, which have won design-wins in a number of industries.
The SAKURA-II Edge AI Platform is the embodiment of EdgeCortix’s patented, software-first, hardware-software co-design framework. In order to provide effective and flexible AI processing across diverse edge environments, the platform combines reconfigurable silicon with a specialized compiler and runtime stack.
In addition to powering EdgeCortix’s own hardware, this innovative method serves as a “runtime of runtimes” for external processors, providing a sophisticated means of bringing the disparate and diverse edge hardware landscape together.
The SAKURA-II platform, which is based on Dynamic Neural Accelerator® (DNA) technology, provides high parallelism and run-time reconfigurability to effectively handle a wide variety of model types, including CNNs and Transformers.
Robotics, Industrial & Manufacturing, Aerospace, Defense, Space, Security, and Telecommunications are among the industries served by the company’s AI accelerator modules and cards, which provide up to 240 TOPS of compute performance for energy-efficient Generative AI processing of demanding edge applications.
EdgeCortix is positioned to spearhead the next significant wave of Edge AI acceptance and growth because to its upcoming chiplet-based architecture.
With this most recent transaction, the company’s total cumulative capital since December 2024 has exceeded US$110 million, including equity investments and significant non-dilutive government awards.
Prominent international investors, who are aware of EdgeCortix’s cutting-edge AI technology, strategic leadership, and strong client traction, continue to show a great deal of interest in the Series B round, which started with an initial closure in August 2025.
This also marks TDK Ventures’ first investment in a Japan-based company.
Dr. Sakyasingha Dasgupta, the founder and CEO of EdgeCortix, is an award-winning physicist turned artificial intelligence (AI) and machine-learning technologist and entrepreneur with almost 20 years of experience turning cutting-edge AI research from an idea to scalable products across semiconductors, robotics, finance, defense, and aerospace sectors.
He has more than thirty US patents. Atsushi Matsumoto, Executive VP of Finance & Operations; Tim Vehling, Executive VP of Global Sales & Business Development; Jeffrey H. Grosman, Executive VP of Marketing & US Operations; and other seasoned leaders comprise the management team.
In addition to current investors like SBI Investments and Global Hands-On VC, TDK Ventures joins a distinguished group of investors in the EdgeCortix Series B funding, including CBID Cross Border Innovation, Jane Street Capital, Yanmar Ventures, Pacific Bays Capital, NTT Finance Corporation, SiC Power, and Aero X Ventures.
