Teledyne FLIR OEM has unveiled the Lepton XDS, a compact dual thermal and visible camera module that brings the power of the company’s patented MSX® (Multi-Spectral Dynamic Imaging) technology to a new generation of space-and-power-constrained OEM products. Designed for rapid integration, the ITAR-free Lepton XDS helps reduce development risk and speed up time-to-market for embedded, mobile, and industrial applications.

The dual thermal and visible camera combines a 160 × 120 radiometric Lepton 3.5 micro-thermal camera with a five-megapixel visible sensor, delivering crisp, detailed imaging through FLIR’s MSX technology.

By embossing the visible-image edges directly onto the thermal scene in real time, MSX provides improved definition, sharper context, and a level of thermal insight typically found in higher-end, higher-resolution systems.

The result is exceptional performance for applications such as fire detection and prevention, EV battery monitoring, robotics navigation, unmanned systems, smart infrastructure, and health and safety monitoring.

Advanced Imaging with FLIR Prism ISP

The module integrates FLIR Prism ISP (Image Signal Processing) software, which enhances imaging performance beyond MSX.

Prism ISP supports real-time thermal-visible fusion, advanced visual processing, and an industry-first radiometric JPEG (RJPEG) output format.

Built-in visualization tools include regions of interest (ROI), spot temperature measurements, isotherms, and customizable color palettes.

Lepton XDS also works seamlessly within the broader Teledyne FLIR OEM software ecosystem for data analysis, post-processing, and reporting.
