Cyient, SIDBI Launch AI Skills Center in Nagaland

The establishment of an AI & Future Skills Center of Excellence (CoE) at the Nagaland Tool Room & Training Centre (NTTC), Dimapur, was announced by Cyient Foundation, the company’s CSR division, in association with SIDBI Swavalamban Foundation. By equipping local youth with future-ready digital and technology skills, the program seeks to accelerate AI-driven skilling and employment in North-East India.

In the presence of Y. Patton, Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Nagaland, and Dr. BVR Mohan Reddy, Founder Chairman, Cyient Limited, Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman, Honorable Union Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs, Government of India, inaugurated the Center of Excellence, marking an important turning point in India’s efforts to democratize access to technology and foster inclusive growth.

The project was designed, organized, and carried out by Cyient Foundation as the Program Management and Implementation Partner of the AI & Future Skills Center of Excellence (CoE) at the Nagaland Tool Room & Training Center (NTTC).

In order to close employment gaps, encourage entrepreneurship, and promote digital inclusion in the area, the CoE will provide AI-integrated skilling programs in fields including Handloom & Handicraft; AI, Software Coding & Robotics.

Through a CSR relationship with the SIDBI Swavalamban Foundation, the program has received financing to establish digital classrooms, AI simulation labs, and infrastructure at NTTC.

Over 200–240 youth are anticipated to get training from the CoE each year, with 75% of graduates expected to find work or start their own business within three months of finishing the program. For long-term effects, the concept incorporates market connection opportunities, AI-based curriculum integration, and faculty training.

Cyient, SIDBI Launch AI Skills CoE in NagalandBy bolstering India’s efforts to provide its workforce with cutting-edge technological capabilities and promoting regional economic resilience, this project complements national initiatives including Digital India, Skill India, and Viksit Bharat 2047.

The Cyient Foundation’s overarching goal of “Empowering Tomorrow Together”—giving India’s youth future-ready skills and paving the way for inclusive growth—is reflected in this effort.

Building on its proven track record, the Foundation has implemented digital literacy initiatives for over 35,000 students in over 120 government schools. More than 21,000 kids are currently enjoying high-quality education thanks to its Adopt-a-School program.

The Foundation has supported rural development and women’s empowerment in addition to education. Over 2,000 rural women receive training for long-term jobs every year.
