Vishay Debuts 30 W AEC-Q200 Power Resistor for EV Systems

Vishay Intertechnology unveiled a new AEC-Q200 qualified LTA 30 W thick film power resistor in a compact TO-220 package for direct mounting on a heatsink in response to the increasing need for high performance electronic components in next-generation automotive applications.

Vishay LTA 30 30W Power Resistor for EV BMS

The Vishay Sfernice LTA 30 is designed to provide outstanding reliability and durability in even the most harsh automotive environments. It can tolerate temperatures as high as +125 °C and high humidity levels while offering a high tolerance against vibration and electrical stress.

To guarantee stability during transients and high voltage situations, the resistor also combines a high 500 V operating voltage with a robust overload capability (1.5x Pr for 5 s). When combined, these qualities ensure reliable performance in applications where safety is crucial.

The newly released device functions as the precharge or discharge resistor for on-board chargers, battery management systems (BMS), and motor controls for electric vehicles (EV), hybrid electric vehicles (HEV), and plugged hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV).

Vishay LTA 30 30W Power Resistor for EV BMSIt offers a wide range of resistance values from 0.010 W to 450 kW with tolerances down to ± 1%. The RoHS-compliant device has a high dielectric strength of 1500 Vrms and a non-inductive construction.

Availability

Samples and production quantities of the Vishay Sfernice LTA 30 are available now, with lead times of four to six weeks.
