Vinkesh Gulati has been appointed as the new chairperson of the Automotive Skills Development Council (ASDC), which is the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship’s apex body for skill development in the automotive sector.

He takes over from F R Singhvi, who led the council through a phase of growth and change before ending his term. Vinkesh Gulati is a prominent person in the automotive and educational sectors.

He presently manages United Automobiles and the United Group of Institutions and was President of the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) from 2020 to 2022.

As Vice President of ASDC, he has already played a significant role in spearheading efforts to close the skills gap in the automotive workforce, with an emphasis on advanced manufacturing, digital diagnostics, and electric vehicles.

He is renowned for his innovative approach and has led a number of industry-first projects, such as the Dealer Satisfaction Study, dealer protection legislation amendments, and the launch of cutting-edge platforms like GenX and Women in FADA.

By emphasizing vocational training, certifications, and skill programs in line with cutting-edge technology like EVs, advanced manufacturing, and digital diagnostics, he helped close the skills gap in the automotive industry in his capacity as Vice President of ASDC.

By appointing him, ASDC demonstrates its dedication to developing a workforce that is competent and prepared for the future in order to satisfy the changing needs of the automotive and mobility ecosystem.
