VIAVI Solutions’ award-winning ONE LabPro testing and validation platform now provides more features. The new ONE-1600ER module offers improved functionality and permits thorough testing on a single platform for next-generation 1.6Tb optical components, after the introduction of the ONE-1600 and second generation ONE-1600IE systems.

Infrastructure operators have started deploying 1.6Tb optical transceivers along with other enabling technologies throughout the network as AI and ML have become deeply ingrained in computing and communications. High-capacity testing for infrastructure components delivering 1.6Tb speeds is supported by the ONE LabPro platform.
To help customers meet these challenges and accelerate time to market, VIAVI continues to advance its MAP-300 platform and inspection and cleaning portfolios with powerful new enhancements such as:
- High Density Variable Attenuator (mVOA-C2B) – A new 12 channel, single slot VOA module with millisecond time response and embedded power control optimized for parallel optic applications like DR8 and CPO.
- PM-Fiber Optical Switching (mOSW-C1) – New low loss / high extinction ratio polarization maintaining fiber switches to support ELSFP and silicon photonics test applications.
- FiberChek ULTRA Connector Inspection – Enhancements to support volume manufacture of new connector and fiber types for high-density AI fiber deployments, including support for 80um core, non-contact and lensed connectors, as well as the ELSFP form factors.
With full Ethernet functionality based on the most recent 802.3dj specification, including 1.6Tb and 8x200G testing necessary for testing and evaluating 200G lanes at 224G SERDES, the ONE-1600ER module expands the capabilities of the ONE LabPro platform. It provides thorough RFC2544 for complete performance testing and native support for Riding Heat Sink (RHS) OSFP 1600G modules.
The system has strong power and cooling management features made for the upcoming generation of 1.6Tb coherent modules, like the 1600ZR and 1600LR/ER, in addition to complete electrical and optical support (DAC – AOC, AEC, ACC). In addition, the ONE-1600 provides full interoperability through symbol muxing and inter-sublayer link training (ILT), two new capabilities in 802.3dj.
Additionally, transceiver, VSFF/MPO connector, and co-packaged optics (CPO) makers are facing hitherto unheard-of scaling issues as a result of AI-driven demand.
From September 29 to October 1 in Copenhagen, Denmark, VIAVI’s exhibit C3313 at ECOC 2025 will feature the ONE-1600 and MAP-300 systems. VIAVI will also be exhibiting its performance monitoring solutions for high-capacity networks up to 800G and its full testing solutions for data center cabling certification and monitoring.
At Alphawave Semi’s booth 1428, VIAVI will also showcase smooth PCIe 6.0 interoperability via an optical link in partnership with Alphawave.
The VIAVI Xgig 6P4 Exerciser is part of this partnership, which showcases the development of next-generation PCIe 6.0 installations by utilizing state-of-the-art optical interconnects to meet the increasing demands for energy efficiency, scalability, and bandwidth.
