Valens VA7000 Chipset Powers First 4K and 3D Endoscopes

Three OEMs will introduce the first endoscopes powered by Valens Semiconductor’s VA7000 chipset, indicating significant momentum for Valens’ foray into the medical imaging market. The devices include the first single-use colonoscope with 4K video resolution, an inventive laparoscope, and a 3D imaging system for robotic surgery.

The Valens VA7000 chipset, which offers reliable high-resolution video for endoscopic treatments, is the first on the market with integrated electrosurgical noise cancellation. Additionally, the chipset may offer multi-gig connectivity via ultra-thin coax and UTP wires, giving the endoscope previously unheard-of agility.

The first chipset to meet the MIPI A-PHY standard is the VA7000. Valens is repurposing the VA7000 for other industries that share the need for high-performance connectivity, such as medical, professional audio-video, and industrial machine vision, after designing the chipset to function flawlessly in the demanding electromagnetic environment of the automotive industry.
