A new-generation 5G RedCap chipset platform has been introduced to accelerate industrial and enterprise IoT deployments by delivering a focused balance of performance, energy efficiency, and cost.

Targeted at sectors such as smart manufacturing, rail transit, logistics, and port automation, the chipset is designed for massive device rollouts that need reliable 5G connectivity without the complexity and expense of full 5G eMBB solutions.
Named the V527 platform, the 5G RedCap chipset solution supports peak downlink speeds of up to 226 Mbps and uplink speeds of up to 120 Mbps, making it well suited for real-time monitoring, industrial sensing, and other latency-sensitive applications on the factory floor and in critical infrastructure.
Its reduced-capability 5G NR design cuts device complexity and power consumption, addressing mid-tier use cases where legacy LPWAN is insufficient but full 5G is overkill.
Engineered for harsh environments, the chipset offers robust thermal and environmental resilience, with an operating range from -40 to 85 degrees Celsius, enabling deployment in demanding scenarios such as mining, energy, and outdoor industrial sites.
Advanced on-chip security features further enhance its appeal for enterprises that must protect operational technology networks and critical data as they expand 5G-based industrial IoT.
By lowering sleep-mode power consumption by around 13 percent and simplifying the radio design, the platform helps reduce total cost of ownership versus traditional 5G modules while still enabling secure, deterministic connectivity at scale.
As global investment in 5G-powered automation, smart grids, and smart cities increases, this RedCap chipset positions itself as a strategic enabler for widespread industrial IoT adoption across regions such as Asia-Pacific, Europe, and North America.
