In February, element14’s popular interview series “Top Tech Voices” will continue with a conversation with Toju Duke, who is widely regarded as one of the top advocates for standardizing ethical AI.
Duke founded Bedrock AI, an AI research, product development, and services firm based on the “Responsible AI” tenets, and serves as its CEO.
The extensive conversation, which is titled “The Rise of AI on the Edge with Distributed Intelligence,” will also cover topics such as diversity in AI, STEM, responsible AI, and Duke’s attitude to AI while she was employed at Google.
Duke is a well-known speaker, author, advisor, thought leader, and businessman with over 18 years of experience in tech, retail, advertising, and non-profits. She spent ten years at Google, most recently as a Responsible AI program manager, where she oversaw several Responsible AI initiatives for Google’s research and product teams.
Additionally, Duke launched Bedrock AI, a firm that specializes in AI research, model, and product development, and currently serves as its CEO. She also started Diverse AI, a community interest organization that caters to individuals who belong to underrepresented groups who wish to advance their careers, enter the workforce, or connect with like-minded individuals.
Last but not least, Duke served as the UK representative for “Women in AI,” a global non-profit organization dedicated to promoting gender diversity in AI. Her second book, “Building Responsible AI Algorithms,” was made possible by the enormous success of her first book.
Numerous national and international media outlets, such as the BBC, Sky News, El Pais, La Nacion, La Vanguardia, Sifted, and others, have covered her work.
Hosted by award-winning AI Content and Prompt Engineering Strategist, Georgia Lewis Anderson, among the topics Duke will address, among others in this episode, are:
- AI market trends over the next five years and the most pressing concerns about their development and deployment.
- The resources necessary to engage audiences with AI.
- The most pressing challenges faced by companies interested in implementing AI.
- Identifying what could be the single most transformative AI application of the near future.
- How AI can usefully contribute to sustainability and a reduction in carbon footprints.
- The most critical legislative and regulatory issues facing AI implementation.
- How customers are likely to react to – and interact with – AI.
